Befriending is a voluntary relationship based on trust, confidentiality & mutual involvement, either in a one-to-one or group setting. The relationship is formed with the aim of providing practical assistance & social support. Involvement can be a very rewarding experience for both people providing opportunities for developing new skills, raising self-confidence & exploring things from a different angle while at the same time engaging with, & putting something back into the community.

As part of their voluntary work Ian & Estelle, & a team of couples go into schools in Solihull to talk to teenagers about what it’s like being in a lasting relationship
